LODEN Properties is a Raleigh-based commercial real estate development company that assembles multifaceted teams to create magnetic hospitality, retail and mixed-use experiences. We are driven to find opportunities that are unique, a bit unusual and potentially transformative in nature. Our overarching goal is to create places that contribute to the betterment and enhancement of the community.

Russ began his professional career as an auditor for Ernst & Young and uses that financial background to enhance a lifetime of real estate knowledge gained from his father (Roddy Jones) and grandfather (Seby Jones). In 1999, he was hired to manage the assets in his grandfather's real estate portfolio and was hooked. In 2006, he became a shareholder in Davidson and Jones Hotel Corporation and became the majority shareholder in 2013. Russ has extensive hospitality development and management experience, including the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center in Durham, the Marriott Courtyard at Triangle Town Center and the mixed-use development next to the Durham Performing Arts Center that includes the 134-room Aloft. Russ spends significant time contributing to the community, including current roles as Finance Committee Chair for the Dix Park Conservancy, Raleigh Convention Center Board Member and Advisory Board Member for Triangle Family Services. Russ served for many years as the manager for the Seby B Jones Charitable Foundation and as a result maintains a deep connection to the many charitable organizations that support the Raleigh/Durham community.
